The Path To Fake Spirituality, Sects & False Interpretations of Islam

This post is based on the question: “Do false interpretations of Islam often lead towards apostasy?  Many borderline Muslims have become apostates, after their false interpretations of Islam started to not make sense to them anymore. I see many others still making false assumptions on Islamic texts. Are they in danger of falling into the same fate?” ΙℓΙ

The problem is not  false interpretations of Islam, as much as what led to their false interpretations….. And that is, they wanted something to suit their desires. I shall explain:

Every person needs spirituality, and even materialists recognize this. It is hard to deny that we are formed of more than just physical needs – we also need love, we need spirituality and to form a part of something greater, and we need to know who we are in this vast universe. There are some of mankind who try to suppress this desire of spirituality completely, they become atheists. But the vast majority of mankind divide into 2 categories:

❶ – Those who sincerely seek truth, and they find Islam, or if they are unaware of anything about Islam, they become followers of the truth remaining in other religions. When Islam is presented to them, they accept Islam.

❷ – These are the people who want some form of CONVENIENT spirituality that fulfills the needs of the soul in a superficial way. They may choose yoga or any religion or form of religion, to get some sense or feeling of spirituality, and unfortunately, some choose Islam. Of course, when they realize the reality of Islam, which is a real worship of God and submission to His Laws, and a practical force to change the world with strict rules, they are unable to handle it, because they were never after real spirituality in the first place, never after anything that truly inconveniences them in the form of real belief, truth, real laws to live by. From here is a short path to their apostasy from Islam, or becoming hypocrites, or innovators and sectarians of all sorts.

  1. blind faith is hardly ever noble, even a good person in faith who commits evil, can not claim it is allahs’ fault.
